# A private room for your people.

> Circles are private groups of members with posts only they can read: founding members, cohorts, clients. Add people by hand or sync them from your app.

A circle in PixelGlass is a named group of members, such as founding members, a course cohort or your clients. **Publish posts that only the circle can read.** A circle has no price and no end date: you decide who is in it.

## Gather any group, in seconds.

Add a member to a circle from their page, or tick many on your roster and add them all at once. **A member can be on a paid tier and in as many circles as you like.**

- Filter your roster by circle
- A count of members on every circle
- Your app or your agent keeps a circle in sync

## Write for the few. Lock it for the rest.

Set a post's Who can read to Circles and choose one or more. **Members of any of them read the whole post.** Everyone else sees its title, cover and excerpt, and a note that it is for that circle, with a link to the circle's join page if you give one.

- Use your own page to say how to join
- A circle that a post is for is never deleted by accident
- Tiers sell access; circles grant it

## Run it from your own product.

Sell a course, a cohort or a client service somewhere else? Add and remove members through the Admin API or your agent, and find each one by email. Adding someone twice changes nothing, so **a nightly sync is safe**.

- Five circle tools on the MCP server
- The same changes in the admin, the API and the agent

## In short

- **No price, no plan.** A circle grants access. It never charges, so it works beside any tier.
- **Many circles, one member.** A member belongs to as many circles as you like, and reads every post for each of them.
- **Staff stay in charge.** Owners and admins manage circles. Members cannot add themselves.

## Questions

### What is a circle in PixelGlass?

A circle is a named group of members, such as founding members, a cohort or clients, with posts only its members can read. It has no price and no end date. Owners and admins decide who is in it.

### What is the difference between a circle and a paid tier?

A tier is something a reader buys, with a price and a renewal. A circle is a group you choose by hand or from your own app. A member can have a tier and be in any number of circles at the same time.

### How do members join a circle?

Staff add them on the member's page or in bulk from the roster, or your app adds them through the Admin API or the MCP server. Give the circle a join page, and readers who are not in it see a link to that page.

### Can my agent manage circles?

Yes. The MCP server has tools to list, create and update circles and to add and remove members, so Claude or ChatGPT can keep a circle in step with a list you give it.

### What do readers outside the circle see?

The post's title, cover and excerpt, then a note that the post is for that circle, linked to the circle's join page when it has one.
