# Pictures in place. At the width you choose.

> Add pictures, YouTube or Vimeo video and your own films to a post, set their width, and give it a cover. In the editor, or ask your agent for the pictures.

Images and video are cards in the PixelGlass editor. Upload a file, pick one from your library or Unsplash, or paste a YouTube or Vimeo link, and **set each card to regular, wide or full width**.

## By hand, in the admin

1. In the editor, open **Blocks** or the column of cards beside the page, and choose **Image** or **Video**.
2. For an image, press **Upload** or **From the library**, or drop a file on the card. The library sheet also searches Unsplash.
3. For a video, paste a YouTube or Vimeo link and press **Embed**, or upload a film of your own and choose a thumbnail.
4. Select the card to set its **Width**: Regular width, Wide or Full width. An image can also take a link and a caption.
5. For the cover, use **Upload**, **From the library** or **Unsplash** above the title, then pick how the header shows it.
6. Open **Media** in the navbar to see every file, where each is used, and to purge the ones nothing uses.

## With your agent

> Upload the photo at this address and make it the cover of my post “Low tide”, with alt text that describes it.

> Put these three photos in the harbour post, one after each section, with a short caption under each.

> Remove the cover from the post about the old bridge.

The tools it calls: `upload_media`, `get_post`, `edit_post`, `set_feature_image`.

## Examples

- **A recipe, step by step.** A cook uploads a photo for each step and sets the last one, the finished dish, to **full width**.
- **A talk, embedded.** A design studio pastes the YouTube link of its conference talk into a Video card. The reader's player is made again from the link on every page.
- **A travel post from the road.** A cyclist sends his agent photo links from his phone. It uploads them to the library, makes the best one the cover and places the rest.

## Questions

### How do I add an image to a post on PixelGlass?

Choose Image from the Blocks menu, then upload a file, drop one on the card, or pick one from the library or from Unsplash.

### Which video can I put in a post on PixelGlass?

A YouTube or Vimeo link, embedded with the Video card, or a film you upload yourself, with a thumbnail you choose.

### Can images be wider than the text?

Yes. Each image or video card is Regular width, Wide or Full width. Your theme sets what each width measures.

### Where are all my uploads?

On the Media screen. It lists every file, shows where each one is used, and Purge unused deletes the files that nothing shows.

### Can my agent add pictures to a post?

Yes. It uploads a picture from an address with upload_media, writes it into the post's Markdown, and sets the cover, its alt text and caption with set_feature_image.
