# Your readers talk. On your site.

> Members share short posts and photos on your site, liked and replied to, and your team moderates them beside the comments. By hand or with your agent.

Member posts turn a publication into a place. Readers share short posts and photos, like them and reply. **You decide what waits for review**, and three reports hide a post until your team looks.

**Early access.** This guide uses a feature in early access. PixelGlass turns it on for a publication on request while it is new.

## By hand, in the admin

1. Open **Settings › Audience › Member posts** and turn on **Let members post**.
2. Set **First posts that wait for review**. Turn on **Let members add photos** if you want photos, and set the limits. Save.
3. Show the feed on your site. Atlas shows what members share on its home page; in another theme, ask your agent to add it.
4. Open **Comments** and its **Member posts** tab. **Publish** a post that waits, or **Hide** one that is shown.
5. Readers like, reply and report. Three reports hide a post until your team looks again.

## With your agent

> Show me the member posts that wait for review.

> Hide the member post that links to the betting site.

> Add a feed of member posts to my home page, with a Share something button.

> Bring in the posts our members shared on our old forum, from this export.

The tools it calls: `list_member_posts`, `hide_member_post`, `list_theme_files`, `read_theme_file`, `edit_theme_file`, `import_member_post`.

Your agent hides a member post but cannot publish one that waits: that is your team's press on the Member posts tab. The import tool is offered only while Let agents import old posts is open.

## Examples

- **A surf club's morning reports.** Members post a line and a photo from the beach each morning. **The club's home page is the members' feed**, and the editors write the long pieces.
- **A first post that waits.** A parenting site holds each new member's first post for review. After that, a member's posts go up at once.
- **A forum, moved in.** A board game magazine closes its old forum. Its agent brings each old post in on its own date, by the members who wrote it.

## Questions

### How do readers share posts on a PixelGlass site?

Turn on Let members post in Settings › Audience › Member posts. A signed-in member writes a short post, with photos when you allow them, and other members like it and reply.

### Who can write a member post?

A member who confirmed their address and is not banned from commenting.

### How do I moderate member posts?

On the Member posts tab beside Comments, editors publish a post that waits, hide one, or delete it with its replies. Three reports from readers hide a post by themselves.

### Can readers put links or markup in a member post?

A member post is plain text with a few links at most. A link to another site goes through a warning page first.

### What happens to a reader's photo?

PixelGlass makes the photo again as a WebP file with no camera or location data. The upload itself is never kept.

### Can my agent bring in posts from an old forum?

Yes. An admin turns on Let agents import old posts for seven days, and the agent sends each post with import_member_post. Each post must be by someone who is already a member.
