# One audience. As many lists as you need.

> Run a weekly letter, a digest and a briefing side by side. Readers choose their lists, and each post goes to the one you pick. By hand, with your agent.

A PixelGlass publication runs as many newsletters as it needs, side by side. **Readers choose the lists they want**, and each post goes to the list you pick on the publish page.

## By hand, in the admin

1. Open **Newsletters** on the sidebar and press **New newsletter** for each list: a name, a description and, if it needs one, its own **Reply-to address**.
2. Turn on **Subscribe newcomers automatically** for the lists every new reader joins. Leave it off for the lists readers choose.
3. Readers pick lists on a subscribe form that shows a box for each, and on their own Newsletters page, which every newsletter email links to.
4. To move many readers at once, filter **Audience** by **Newsletter**, tick them, and choose **Subscribe** or **Unsubscribe** on the bar.
5. On the publish page, pick the **Newsletter** each post goes to.

An admin makes and deletes lists. Each post goes to one list.

## With your agent

> Write a digest of everything I published this month, with one line and a link for each post.

> Show a box for each of my newsletters on the subscribe form in my footer.

The tools it calls: `list_posts`, `create_post`, `list_themes`, `read_theme_file`, `edit_theme_file`, `render_page`.

No tool makes a list, moves readers between lists or sends. Your agent writes the issues and changes the form in your theme, which needs an admin; the lists and the sends are yours.

## Examples

- **A weekly and a monthly.** A food writer runs Weekly Recipes and The Long Read. New readers join Weekly Recipes; **the long read is one they choose**.
- **A free list and a paid briefing.** A trade publication runs a free Daily list and a Briefing list. Briefing posts are for paying members, so only paying readers on that list get them.

## Questions

### Can I run more than one newsletter on PixelGlass?

Yes. Make as many lists as you need under Newsletters in the PixelGlass admin. Readers choose the lists they want, and each post goes to the list you pick on the publish page.

### How do readers choose which PixelGlass newsletters they get?

A subscribe form can show a box for each list, and every newsletter email links to the reader's own Newsletters page, with a switch for each list and Unsubscribe from all.

### Which lists does a new reader join?

Every list with Subscribe newcomers automatically on. A reader who unsubscribed from all newsletters is never put back on a list except by their own choice.

### Can one post go to two newsletters?

No. A post is sent once, to one list. Pick the list on the publish page, and tick labels to reach part of it.

### Can each newsletter have its own reply-to address?

Yes. A list's Reply-to address takes the replies to its emails. When it is blank, replies go to the publication's address, and then to the owner.
