# Your name in the From line. Your domain behind it.

> Send your readers' email from newsletter@yourdomain.com, not a PixelGlass address. Add the domain, paste three DNS records, and it switches when they verify.

Every PixelGlass publication sends from its own address on pixelglass.me. With a sending domain, **readers' email comes from your own domain**, once three DNS records prove it is yours.

**Early access.** This guide uses a feature in early access. PixelGlass turns it on for a publication on request while it is new.

## By hand, in the admin

1. Open **Newsletters** on the sidebar and find **Sending domain**.
2. Type the part before the @ under **From** (newsletter when left blank), then the domain, and press **Add**.
3. Copy the three records shown, two CNAME and one TXT, into your domain's DNS. Each has a **Copy** button.
4. PixelGlass checks them for the next two days, and each record turns from **Waiting** to **Verified**. Press **Check again** after a change.
5. Once all three verify, the section says **Sending as** your address, and every email to your readers comes from it.

An admin adds and removes the domain. Remove it, and email goes out from your pixelglass.me address again.

## With your agent

> Write a short post telling readers that our emails now come from newsletter@ourdomain.com.

The tools it calls: `create_post`.

No tool adds a sending domain or reads its records: an admin adds it under Newsletters, and the records go in at your DNS provider. Your agent can tell your readers about the change.

## Examples

- **A shop that keeps its name.** A ceramics shop sends from news@ on its own domain, so **its newsletter sits beside its order emails** under one name.
- **A new domain, checked twice.** A history podcast adds its records on a Friday night. By Saturday morning all three say Verified, and Sunday's issue goes out from its own address.

## Questions

### Can I send my PixelGlass newsletter from my own domain?

Yes, in early access. Add the domain under Newsletters › Sending domain, put its three DNS records at your DNS provider, and PixelGlass sends from it once they verify.

### Which DNS records does a PixelGlass sending domain need?

Three: two CNAME records and one TXT record. The Newsletters screen shows each host and value with a Copy button, and marks each Waiting or Verified.

### Which emails come from my sending domain?

Every email PixelGlass sends to your readers: newsletters, sign-in codes and subscribe confirmations. The name in the From line stays your publication's.

### What happens if my DNS records go away?

PixelGlass checks verified domains every night. If the records are gone, email goes out from your pixelglass.me address again and your admins get a notification.

### Is the sending domain the same as my site's domain?

No. Your site's domain is where readers read you; the sending domain is where your email comes from. They can be the same domain or different ones.
