# Readers reply. You get the answer.

> Choose where readers' replies go: one address for the publication, or one for each newsletter. Each is confirmed first. Set in the admin by an admin.

Every email to your readers has a reply-to address. **Set one for the publication, or one for each newsletter**, and PixelGlass confirms it before a single reply goes there.

## By hand, in the admin

1. Open **Newsletters** on the sidebar. Under **Replies**, type the address for the whole publication and press **Save**.
2. PixelGlass mails that address a link. Open it and press **Confirm**. The link works for three days.
3. Until it is confirmed, replies go to the next address in line, and the screen says so. Press **Send again** for a new link.
4. For one list of its own, open the newsletter, type its **Reply-to address**, and press **Save**. It is confirmed the same way.

A list's address comes first, then the publication's, then the owner's. Lists and reply addresses are an admin's.

## With your agent

> End my next issue with a short line that asks readers to hit reply and tell me what they think.

The tools it calls: `get_post`, `start_editing_post`, `edit_post`, `finish_editing_post`.

No tool sets a reply-to address: an admin sets it under Newsletters, and only the address's owner can confirm it. Your agent can write the line that asks for replies.

## Examples

- **Replies to the editor.** A local paper sends its morning list with replies to the news desk, and **its sports list with replies to the sports editor**.
- **A shared inbox.** A design studio sets hello@ as the publication's address, so every reply to every list lands where the whole team reads it.

## Questions

### How do I set a reply-to address for my newsletter on PixelGlass?

Open Newsletters in the PixelGlass admin, type the address under Replies, and press Save. PixelGlass mails it a link, and replies go there once you confirm.

### Can each PixelGlass newsletter have its own reply-to address?

Yes. Open the newsletter and type its Reply-to address. A list's own address comes first, then the publication's, then the owner's.

### Where do replies go before I set an address?

To the owner's address. A blank Replies field means the owner, and an address that is not confirmed yet is passed over.

### Why does PixelGlass confirm a reply-to address?

So that nobody can send your readers' replies to an address they do not own. The address gets a link, and only a Confirm on that link makes it the reply-to.

### Can readers reply to the address the email comes from?

A reply goes to the reply-to address, never to the sending address. Readers press reply in their mail app as usual.
