For developers
Build on it,
in your own code.
PixelGlass has a developer API for every publication. Read posts and pages as JSON with a content key, read and change your audience with a staff key, and sign readers in with your own app's accounts through single sign-on. Webhooks are coming soon.

Your site's JSON
A headless CMS,
with a key you can share.
Add .json to any address of your site: the home page, a post, a tag, an author. A content key opens what a visitor reads, with CORS, so it can sit in a web page's own code. It reads a private site too, so a site of your own can be the front end.
- Posts with their HTML, every address in it absolute
- Tags, authors, translations and the Markdown twin's address
- Paid posts answer with their teaser, never their text
Your admin's JSON
Keep your audience
in step with your app.
A staff key acts as its person, inside their role. Find a member by address or by your app's own id, change their name, labels and lists, comp them on a tier, give them a badge or put them in a circle, and read your posts, media and notifications.
- A screen answers its own address with .json
- Refusals come back as a sentence, never a bare code
- A 409 tells a taken address from a bad field
Member single sign-on
Your accounts.
Your readers.
Already have users? Your app signs them in on your PixelGlass site with a short JWT signed by a secret only you hold. They comment, reply and vote as the member your app says they are. A session endpoint keeps them signed in on every page, and signs them out when your app does.
- Link-in sends a user to any post, signed in
- Readers can sign in with your app only, with no email codes
- A member is found by your id, then by address
Webhooks · Coming soon
Tell your stack
the moment it happens.
Webhooks are coming soon. Each one will be an HTTPS request to an address you give, for the same events your team's notifications show: a new member, a new paid membership, a new comment, a post or a newsletter going out. They will carry the same names the notifications API uses today, so code you write against it now keeps working.
- Post each new paying member to your team's chat
- Add every new reader to your CRM, or start an onboarding sequence
- Rebuild a static front end when a post goes live
- For developers
One key, one job
A content key only reads what a visitor reads. A staff key acts as one person, never more than their role.
- For developers
Agents included
The same publication is an MCP server with 68 tools, for Claude, ChatGPT and your own agents.
- For developers
Written down
The docs cover every address, field and refusal, and your agent can search them.
Questions about developer API
- Does PixelGlass have an API?
- Yes. Every PixelGlass site answers JSON at its own addresses: the site's posts, pages, tags and authors with a content key, and the admin's members, posts, media and notifications with a staff key. Agents work through the site's MCP server.
- Can I use PixelGlass as a headless CMS?
- Yes. Add .json to any address of your site and send a content key. The answers carry CORS headers, every address inside is absolute, and a post includes its HTML. A content key reads a private site too.
- Can members sign in with my own app's accounts?
- Yes, with single sign-on. Your app sends the reader to the site with a JWT signed with HS256 and a secret from Settings › Audience. The site finds the member by your app's id, then by address, or makes one. A session endpoint keeps readers signed in across the site.
- Can I keep my members in sync with my app?
- Yes. With a staff key, find a member by address or by your app's single sign-on id, then change their name, address, labels, lists, comps, badges and circles. Adding new members through the API is opened for a publication on request.
- Does PixelGlass have webhooks?
- Not yet. Webhooks are coming soon, for the events the Notifications screen shows, with the same names. Until then, read the notifications API, which lists the same events with a staff key.
- Are there rate limits?
- Yes. A site answers 300 requests a minute from one address, and answers 429 beyond that.
