Running a publication

Your name
on the door.

Type your domain, add the records PixelGlass shows you where your DNS is managed, and the check runs by itself. Once it passes, your PixelGlass address redirects to your domain. The admin stays where it was.

Say it to your agent

Connect blog.harbourbakery.com to my site, and tell me the records to add.

  • connect_domain
  • check_domain
  • site_status

Two ways to do it.

By hand

In the admin

  1. As the owner, open Billing in the admin and its Domain tab, or your site's page on pixelglass.co and Add a domain.
  2. Type the domain, like blog.example.com or example.com. Tick Also connect www if you want it too, and press Connect.
  3. Add each record shown, with its Type, Host and Value, where your DNS is managed. The screen names your provider and links its guide.
  4. On Cloudflare, paste an API token instead and press Add records. PixelGlass uses the token once and keeps nothing.
  5. Wait for the check: every minute at first, then every quarter of an hour, for 48 hours. Check again starts a new round, and Notifications tells you when it connects.

With your agent

In Claude, ChatGPT or your editor

Connect blog.harbourbakery.com to my site, and tell me the records to add.

Connect harbourbakery.com, with www as well.

Is my domain connected yet? If not, check it again.

The tools it calls

  • connect_domain
  • check_domain
  • site_status

These tools are on the PixelGlass connector at pixelglass.co/mcp, which acts for your account. The records are yours to add at your DNS provider, or Cloudflare's to add from a token you paste on the domain screen.

For example

  • A bakery's blog on a subdomain

A bakery keeps its shop on harbourbakery.com and puts the blog on blog.harbourbakery.com: one CNAME record, and it is connected.

  • The root of the domain

A photographer connects her own name. The root takes an A record and a TXT record, and www comes along with a row of its own.

  • Records added from a token

A consultant's DNS is on Cloudflare. He pastes a token, PixelGlass adds the records as DNS only, and the check starts at once.

Questions, answered

How do I use my own domain with PixelGlass?
Open Billing › Domain in the PixelGlass admin, or your site's page on pixelglass.co, type the domain and press Connect. Add the DNS records it shows you, and PixelGlass checks them until they pass.
Can I connect a root domain, not only a subdomain?
Yes. On PixelGlass a subdomain like blog.example.com takes one CNAME record. A root like example.com takes an A record and a TXT record, because most providers allow no CNAME there.
What happens to my pixelglass.me address?
Once your domain is connected, a reader who opens the pixelglass.me address is redirected to your domain, and your feeds, sitemap and newsletters use the domain. The PixelGlass admin stays on pixelglass.me.
Does my domain get HTTPS?
Yes. PixelGlass takes a certificate for your domain by itself once the records pass.
Who can connect a domain?
The owner of the PixelGlass site, who holds its account. An agent connected at pixelglass.co/mcp can connect it for the owner.
Why does my domain not connect?
Most often another record sits on the same name, the domain is typed twice in the Host, or Cloudflare proxies the record. The PixelGlass domain screen lists each case; set a Cloudflare record to DNS only.
