Writing and publishing

Your agent writes.
You keep the pen.

When your agent starts on a post, the PixelGlass editor says so by name. While you have the post open, the agent cannot write to it, and every change it makes is a version you can see and undo.

Say it to your agent

Tighten the introduction of my post “Why we close on Mondays”, then tell me when you are done.

  • start_editing_post
  • get_post
  • edit_post
  • replace_post

Two ways to do it.

By hand

In the admin

  1. Ask your agent to work on a post. It marks the post first, and the editor names it: “Claude is writing this post for Ana.”
  2. Open the post in the editor to read along. While it is open, every write the agent tries is refused with your name.
  3. Close the editor, or switch to another tab, and the agent may write again.
  4. Open the clock in the editor for Post history. Each agent write is a version of its own, labelled Via an agent.
  5. Pick one and press Restore this version to take an agent's change back.

With your agent

In Claude, ChatGPT or your editor

Tighten the introduction of my post “Why we close on Mondays”, then tell me when you are done.

Fix the spelling in my draft about the ferry timetable, and change nothing else.

Rewrite the last section of the open-day post in a warmer voice, and send me the preview link.

The tools it calls

  • start_editing_post
  • get_post
  • edit_post
  • replace_post
  • finish_editing_post

For example

  • Proofreading while she sleeps

A novelist asks her agent to proofread a chapter post at night. In the morning every fix is one version in Post history.

  • Hands off while he types

A gallery owner opens a post to add a quote while his agent works on it. The agent stops, tells him who has the post open, and waits.

  • Two people and an agent

Two editors and their agents work on one site. The editor names everyone at a post, people and agents both.

Questions, answered

How do I know my agent is writing a post on PixelGlass?
The editor says so. An agent marks the post with start_editing_post before it plans a change, and the editor names the agent and the person it works for.
Can my agent overwrite what I am typing?
No. While a person has the post open in the PixelGlass editor, every write to it through the agent door is refused with that person's name.
How do I undo a change my agent made?
Open Post history in the editor. Each agent write is a version labelled Via an agent; pick the one before it and press Restore this version.
How long does the agent's mark stay on a post?
Until the agent calls finish_editing_post, or ten minutes after its last write.
Whose name is on my agent's changes?
Yours. An agent acts as the person who connected it, inside that person's role, so its versions carry your name.
