Sent with a bad link?
Fix it after the send.

Every link in a PixelGlass newsletter goes out through your site. Change where a link leads, and every copy in every inbox follows, the ones already read included.

Say it to your agent

The link to the venue in “Spring market, Saturday” is dead. The new page is marketsquare.example/spring. Fix it in the post.

  • list_posts
  • get_post
  • start_editing_post
  • edit_post

Two ways to do it.

By hand

In the admin

  1. When a newsletter starts to go out, PixelGlass checks its links in the background.
  2. If a link looks broken, a notification says how many and leads to the post's campaign page.
  3. Under Links, a broken one says Broken when last checked. Press Edit beside it.
  4. Type the New address and press Save. Every copy already sent now leads there, and the link is checked again.
  5. To go back to the address the post wrote, press Restore.

Editors and up fix a newsletter's links, and so does the post's own author. A link to one of your own posts follows the post when its address changes, so it needs no fix.

With your agent

In Claude, ChatGPT or your editor

The link to the venue in “Spring market, Saturday” is dead. The new page is marketsquare.example/spring. Fix it in the post.

Check the links in my post about the reading list and replace any that point to the old shop address.

The tools it calls

  • list_posts
  • get_post
  • start_editing_post
  • edit_post
  • finish_editing_post

No tool changes a link in a newsletter that already went out: that is Edit on the campaign page. An agent fixes the link in the post itself, on the site and in every send after it.

For example

  • A ticket link that moved

A music newsletter sends a gig list, then the venue moves its ticket page. The editor fixes the link once on the campaign page, and every reader's copy leads to the new page.

  • A typo caught by the check

A school newsletter types a form's address with one letter wrong. The notification arrives as the send goes out, and the fix is made before most parents open it.

Questions, answered

Can I fix a link in a newsletter after it was sent on PixelGlass?
Yes. Every PixelGlass newsletter link goes through your site, so on the post's campaign page you press Edit beside the link, type the new address and save. Every copy already sent leads there.
Does PixelGlass check the links in my newsletter?
Yes. When a send starts, PixelGlass checks each link in the background, marks the broken ones on the campaign page and sends one notification that says how many look broken.
Why is a link not marked broken when the site refuses robots?
Because PixelGlass cannot tell. A site that turns robots away is marked unknown, never broken, so a working link is never flagged.
What if I change a post's address after the send?
A newsletter link to one of your own posts follows the post on PixelGlass, so it leads to the post's new address without a fix.
Can my agent fix a broken link?
In the post, yes: an editor's agent changes the link with edit_post. In a newsletter that already went out, the fix is Edit on the campaign page.
