Paid memberships

Three providers.
Your own account on each.

PixelGlass sells through Stripe, Paystack or Dodo Payments, one at a time. The account is always yours: readers pay into it, and PixelGlass takes no fee on top.

Say it to your agent

Paystack is connected. Make every post tagged Market report for paying members.

Two ways to do it.

By hand

In the admin

  1. Open Settings › Payments. Under Sell through, read the line under each provider.
  2. Stripe: choose the currency and press Connect. Stripe asks you to sign in and authorise your own account on its screen.
  3. Paystack: paste your Secret key and press Connect. Then copy the Webhook URL and paste it in Paystack under Settings › API Keys & Webhooks.
  4. Dodo Payments: paste your API key, choose the currency and press Connect. Dodo sells for you as the merchant of record, so your prices include the tax it collects.
  5. To change provider, press Disconnect and connect another. The old one stops selling, and keeps the readers who still pay through it until they leave.

The owner alone connects and disconnects a provider.

With your agent

In Claude, ChatGPT or your editor

No tool connects a provider: the keys and the Stripe sign-in are the owner's own, in Settings › Payments. Once a provider sells, your agent locks posts for paying members with update_post_settings and change_posts.

For example

  • A newsletter in Lagos

A tech writer in Nigeria connects Paystack with her secret key and sells in naira. Her readers pay the way they already pay for everything else.

  • A magazine in Seoul

A culture magazine connects Dodo Payments and prices its tier in won. Dodo collects the tax, so the price a reader sees is the price they pay.

  • A studio in Lisbon

An architecture studio connects its Stripe account in euros and turns on the payment methods it wants in Stripe's own dashboard.

Questions, answered

Which payment providers does PixelGlass support?
Stripe, Paystack and Dodo Payments. A publication sells through one of them at a time, into its own account with that provider.
Does PixelGlass take a fee on reader payments?
No. PixelGlass charges no platform fee and no application fee on any provider. Readers' payments go to your account, less the provider's own fees.
Which provider handles sales tax for me?
Dodo Payments. It sells for you as the merchant of record, so it collects the tax, and on PixelGlass your tier prices include it.
Which provider offers free trials?
Stripe and Dodo Payments. Paystack has no trials on PixelGlass, so the trial field does not show while Paystack is connected.
What happens to paying members if I switch providers?
They keep their plans. On PixelGlass, a disconnected provider stops selling but goes on serving the readers who still pay through it, until the last of them leaves.
Which currencies does Paystack sell in?
On PixelGlass, Paystack sells in naira, cedi, Kenyan shillings, rand and US dollars. The currency comes from your Paystack account; if it holds several, you choose one.
