Running a publication

Delete everything.
Keep the address.

The reset takes a publication back to the first day: posts, pages, media, members, staff and settings all go. Your address and your account stay. It is the owner's alone, and it asks for the site's address typed out.

Say it to your agent

List every published post with its address, so I have a record before I reset the site.

  • list_posts
  • list_tags

Two ways to do it.

By hand

In the admin

  1. As the owner, open Settings › Code and reset.
  2. Read the list under Delete everything and start again.
  3. Type the name the box asks for, the first part of your pixelglass.me address, like crumb.
  4. Press Reset this publication. The publication is blank again, with you as its owner.

With your agent

In Claude, ChatGPT or your editor

List every published post with its address, so I have a record before I reset the site.

Count my posts, pages and tags, so I know what the reset takes.

The tools it calls

  • list_posts
  • list_tags

No agent can reset a publication: only the owner can, by hand, with the address typed. An agent can make a list of what is there first.

For example

  • A test site, made clean

A developer tries every feature on a new site for a week, then resets it and launches on the same address.

  • A new direction

A food writer turns her recipe blog into a travel letter and starts from nothing, keeping the address her readers know.

Questions, answered

How do I reset my PixelGlass site?
As the owner, open Settings › Code and reset, type the first part of the site's pixelglass.me address to confirm and press Reset this publication. Everything at the publication is deleted, and the address and the account stay.
What does a PixelGlass reset delete?
Every post and page with its history and tags, the media library, members, comments, newsletters, tiers, traffic, the audit log, every staff account but the owner's, every invitation, and the settings and theme installs.
Can I undo a reset?
No. A PixelGlass reset is permanent, and nothing it deletes can be brought back.
Does a reset cancel my readers' paid subscriptions?
No. The reset deletes PixelGlass's records of them, but nothing at your payment provider. End the subscriptions there before you reset.
Who can reset a publication?
The owner alone. Admins, editors and authors cannot, and no agent can.
